US Healthcare Organizations Benefit from LionShare’s Use of the Pyramid Decision Intelligence Platform

Key Figures

  • Faster Time to Reports: Automation speeds up access to insights.
  • End-to-End Analytics: Reports cover the complete patient journey.
  • Hybrid Analytics: Cloud and on-premises data supported.
  • Ease of Use: Intuitive interface works for non-technical users.

The Challenge

For over 20 years, LionShare has acted as a data aggregator, helping healthcare organizations connect with patients, prospective patients, and physicians in their communities. The company uses Customer Relationship Management (CRM), marketing campaigns, and analytics to address client challenges around complex services and achieve continuity of care in an increasingly reactive healthcare landscape.

To provide insights across the entire patient journey and encourage more data-driven decision making, LionShare sought to move beyond the limitations of its CRM system. Reports previously had to be rebuilt and exported each time, which was inefficient. Daniel Quinn, VP of Business Strategy and Analytics, noted the need to automate the process and distribute reports in a cleaner format.

Several analytic solutions were considered, including Power BI, Qlik, and Tableau, but Pyramid was chosen for its rich feature set, ease of use, and automation capabilities.

The Solution

LionShare selected the cloud version of the Pyramid Decision Intelligence Platform, connecting it to Microsoft Azure SQL, a cloud-based warehouse integrating data from various sources. Implementation was straightforward, with the main challenge being the adaptation of LionShare’s data model to maximize the platform’s capabilities.

Pyramid’s ingestion process enabled the transformation and standardization of data from diverse sources, including clinical, financial, online, and call centers. Marketing-friendly naming conventions were applied, making the tool more accessible to non-technical users.

Standardized dashboards were developed, some of which are accessible to clients. Pyramid’s platform serves as both a customer-facing solution and an internal analytic tool for analysts. The platform is integral to LionShare’s marketing and communication services, helping clients engage prospects and encourage service use. Dashboards and visualization features facilitate analysis of marketing effectiveness, and the ‘analyze further’ feature allows end-users to explore underlying data in depth.

For client marketing departments without dedicated analysts, this capability is significant and has become a differentiator for LionShare’s services.

Benefits

Daniel Quinn highlighted that Pyramid meets all requirements from data and statistical modeling to report publishing. The presentation module is valued, but automation is the biggest benefit. Time savings are substantial, freeing analysts to focus on more valuable work. Previously, compiling a single report could take 4 to 8 hours; now, Pyramid enables the creation of dozens of continuously updated reports.

The platform democratizes data, making it simple and easy to use for non-analysts. Automation quickly delivers information to users who are not typically statisticians or technical experts. Pyramid’s built-in governance features add another layer of data protection, crucial in healthcare, by controlling access to servers, databases, and data models.

Clients may have up to 75 different data sources, making analytics daunting. Pyramid distills this complexity into a user-friendly interface. Built-in AI and machine learning help organizations run sophisticated marketing campaigns and analyze ROI.

Pyramid has also positively impacted LionShare’s sales process by making data more tangible for non-technical businesses and demonstrating the potential for deeper analytics. Product demos have helped generate new business and keep teams engaged.

Quinn praised Pyramid’s support, describing it as highly responsive and a major selling point.

From data and statistical modeling to report publishing, Pyramid has met all our requirements. We love the presentation module of the platform, but from a day-to-day perspective, automation is the biggest win.
